SPORTS PROGRAMMES
All programmes have a fully integrated social, sports and cultural programme every afternoon and evening with excursions at weekends. Our colleges have a great choice of facilities on site and we also make full use of the local provision for sports and other activities.
Students can also choose a number of sports for private or small group tuition with a qualified professional coach including tennis, golf, riding, sailing and watersports.
Activity: GOLF
Whether you are a beginner, an improving intermediate or a single figure handicap player, this course is ideal. The qualified PGA professional will assess all players and teach all aspects of the game: driving, long irons, pitching, putting, bunker shots as well as provide valuable information on the etiquette of golf. Tuition is both individual and small group. The more advanced students will be able play the main courses.
Although we can provide a limited amount of equipment, students are advised to bring their own clubs if possible.
Activity: TENNIS
The tennis programmes are ever popular with all ages and ability levels. The coaches are all LTA qualified personnel but specifically chosen to make the learning experience fun. For beginners and advanced students alike, all aspects of the game will be covered. Basic shots, ball sense, the service, mobility around the court and advanced tactics are taught by our young and enthusiastic coaches.
Activity: HORSE RIDING
Students will be taught at the nearby Riding Centre under the guidance of trained professional instructors, recognised by the British Horse Society. There is an outside manège, a jumping area and many hectares of open countryside for hacking and trekking. Safety helmets will be provided but students are advised to bring suitable clothing with them.
Activity: WATER SPORTS
Our unrivalled position near the sea allows us to offer a wide variety of water based activities either as fun activities or to provide professional and dedicated instruction. There is a choice of sailing, surfing, canoeing or body boarding. All the equipment is provided and tuition takes place in small groups close by the shore. Safety is our number 1 priority but the ethos of the coaching organisation is for everyone to have fun while they learn.
Activity: ARTS & CRAFTS
For those who prefer a more sedate pastime, we offer our arts and crafts course. Our aim is to provide a broad based introduction to various skills, including painting in both oil and water colours, sculpture and pottery. You will build up a portflolio of work and visit a local gallery as part of the course.
